Siddharth Malhotra, recently seen in Aiyaary, as an army officer and Manoj Bajpayee’s on-screen protege is all set to make another appearance as an army officer in a biopic of the Kargil War hero Captain Vikram Batra.

He will play a double role in the film, one of Vikram Batra and another of his brother Vishal Batra. When asked about the delay in getting started with the film, he said that movies cause a great impact and he is pressurised to play the role effectively and living up to the idea what Captain Batra has done and that is the reason behind the delay.

“We want to work properly on the story. It is not a fictitious story that I want to jump into it. I hope whenever the film comes out the family is happy and proud,” said the actor.

The film will mark Siddharth Malhotra’s first ever appearance in a biopic and this has already made him a bit nervous and excited.

“This is my first biopic and I am super excited for it. He has a brother but the film is predominately about Captain Vikram. We are planning how to cleverly deal with it (double roles). He impacted so many people in the Army. I won’t say he is a personality that everybody knows but I felt it was a story that needed to be told. I found his story fascinating,” said Malhotra, expressing his excitement and nervousness.
