I love airports. That is the place from where you can off to any desired destination. Those overpromised coffees inexpensive crockery’s make you feel richer and vivid travelers around the world give you different vibes. Actually, when you are traveling to your desired destination by air, one of the things that surely excite you is the opportunity to go shopping at airports. After all, there are so many glitzy outlets spread across most of the major airports around the world these days that at times you can’t help but get attracted to one of them and end up shopping, eating and splurging. If not anything else, shopping at the airport could also be one of your ways to kill all of that time you would otherwise get bored waiting for your flight after check-in. Although we would not dare to discourage you from your shopping experiences at the airport, Here we have compiled a list of things you should not buy at the airport, for their own individual reasons of course.

 Electronics

The flashy electronics stores at the airports are always attractive and are often good enough to convince you to buy a thing or two. However, it is advisable to exercise restraint as the electronics sold at airports are considerably expensive as compared to online stores or even retail outlets in normal markets. A research once revealed that electronics sold at airports are as much as 34 percent more expensive when compared to online stores.

Alcohol

This may come across as a surprise as a lot of travelers look forward to buying alcohol from the duty-free shops at the airport as they help them save the money they would have paid the taxes. However, it is a myth at a lot of airports. This is because even though the taxes are not levied on alcohol sold at the airport but there’s a markup in prices that make them more expensive than the price at which they are sold at regular liquor stores.

Food

Hunger is something that might compel a lot of travelers to eat from the food outlets at the airport. However, experienced travelers would know that it is not advisable to eat at one of these outlets just for the sake of killing time. This is not just because the food at the airport is often overpriced, but also because eating junk before a flight might give air travelers major trouble during the course of a flight.

 Perfumes

I wonder which traveler does not get carried away by the perfumes belonging to the big international brands lined up at the duty-free shops at the airports. However, experts believe that these perfumes could well be the fake ones because the duty-free retailer is often not sure whether they are even selling the original one or not. So, it’s better if you spend on that expensive perfume in a departmental store or brand store you know of.
