BJP is demanding a full apology from Congress and its President Rahul Gandhi following the upsetting revelations by Christopher Wylie, a former employee with Cambridge Analytica who blew the whistle on the divisive firms’ contracts all over the world. Wylie has said that one of the firms for CA could have been Congress, and this confession is bound to create more wrinkles in Indian politics in upcoming days.

Christopher Wylie, a former employee with Cambridge Analytica has claimed that the firm worked extensively in India. While deposing before the Digital, Culture, Media and Sports Committee of the UK Parliament Wylie said that he believed that one of the clients was Congress. He said that the firm did all sorts of projects including regional works. He added that CA does have offices and staff in India. He also claimed that he might have some documentary proof on the company's work in India, which he could provide to the committee.

After the revelation, BJP took on the Congress and demanded the resignation of Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

BJP has also claimed that the election campaign of Congress during Gujarat Assembly elections 2018 had a clear impression of Cambridge Analytica.

The British political data analytics company is alleged of using the private data of more than five crores Facebook users to influence voters during 2016 presidential elections in the United States. Wylie has already submitted documents which may have covered the role of Cambridge Analytica in elections around the world, including the Brexit campaign and the 2016 elections in the United States. The latest revelations would heat the political temperatures in Indian politics and increase the war of words between the Congress and the BJP.
