Riding on the wave of success of the Redmi Note 4 device, Xiaomi has become the fastest growing smartphone brand in the country in the third quarter of 2017 year-on-year basis. This information is given by market research firm Counterpoint Research. In India, Chinese handset maker Xiaomi is second with 22.3% market share and its Redmi Note 4 model is the third best quarterly phone in the country. 

Counterpoint, in its initial estimate for the third quarter of 2017, said that Samsung is consistently top of the Indian smartphone market and its market share is 22.8%. 

Tarun Pathak, associate director (mobile device and ecosystem) of Counterpoint Research, said that the credit for the success of the Xiaomi brand in India can be given to the fact that the mid-segment segment (around Rs 10,000) started. Xiaomi reached the Indian market at the right time with her Radmi Note 4 and without losing time became the best-selling model of the market. 

In the third quarter of the year 2017, Chinese smartphone companies Vibo and Oppo recorded growth rates of 21% percent and 17%percentt, respectively. At the time Samsung's sales were the highest recorded in the third quarter and year after year There was an increase of 13% on the basis and 32% on quarter-by-quarter basis.
