New Delhi: On Wednesday morning, a 50-year-old man sneaked in between two cars of a metro train at Dwarka Sector 9 metro station in the national capital. The act was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the platform. While the incident led to a delay on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), services were later resumed and the man was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Here it is to be noted that a sanitary inspector with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Anil Kumar can be seen in the video sneaking in between two cars of a metro train as it gears up to depart from the station around 10.18 pm. A resident of Palam, Kumar was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the same evening. Officials probing the circumstances of Kumar's suicide told media outlets that no suicide note was recovered from him. However, the deceased's son claimed that his father had been battling with depression in the last few days.

To be noted that Delhi Police Additional PRO Anil Mittal said that Kumar was admitted to a nearby hospital with critical injuries which led to his death on Wednesday evening. Mittal also reiterated the statement made by Kumar's son that the deceased was suffering from depression which most likely drove him to take the drastic step. A much similar instance was reported from Ramesh Nagar metro station on DMRC's Blue Line in April of this year when a man committed suicide by jumping in front of an oncoming train at the Jahangirpuri metro station. The deceased was later identified as a 65-year-old man who sustained severe injuries after being hit by the metro train. He was rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last the same evening. This incident came on the heels of another attempt made by a 32-year-old businessman who tried to kill himself by jumping in front of a moving train.
