A Bandh call in Karnataka against the release of Cauvery waters to Tamil Nadu

Bengaluru,Today, Karnataka is at halt as Pro-Kannada outfits and farmer unions have called for Karnataka bandh today against order of Supreme Court to release 15,000 cusecs of Cauvery water a day to Tamil Nadu. 

The updates of protests in Karnatak are here:-

1. The notorious city traffic is off the roads but there are protests at junctions across the city.

2. To prevent inconvenience to students and teachers, the government schools and colleges are closed. And because of the absence of public traffics, the no. of workers are less in government offices.

3. Karnataka Cable Operators Association which is supporting the strike has said Tamil TV channels will not be aired as well as Bengaluru Metro is not running on Friday morning and there are no airport taxis on the deserted roads of the city

4. Chemists are expected to be closed as are banks and restaurants. But, according to government,that the supplies of milk and hospitals will be unaffected.

5. It has been said by the Karnataka film industry that it will not work today and some film stars protested at the Film Chamber of Commerce.

6. People have been advised not to enter Karnataka in vehicles with Tamil Nadu registration numbers.

7. On Friday, to discuss the issue Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda of the JD(S) will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will also explain Karnataka's point of view.
