Chennai: In  the near future, Royal Enfield plans to launch a fourth model in the 650 range in India following the introduction of the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, and Super Meteor 650. Most likely, it will go by the name Shotgun 650.

In the most recent development, a test mule for the upcoming motorcycle that was almost ready for production was spotted conducting trials in a camouflaged avatar.

Given its selection of motorcycles with a retro aesthetic, Royal Enfield has emerged as a force to be reckoned with. The motorcycle manufacturer has established itself as the industry standard for sub-800cc motorcycles with a timeless, vintage appeal.

Following a trio of 650cc siblings, the domestic automaker is now prepared to add a bobber-style model, known as the Shotgun 650, to the middleweight parallel-twin family.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will incorporate styling cues from the Super Meteor 650, including a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a wide handlebar, split-type seats, dual peashooter exhausts, a circular LED headlamp, and a round LED taillamp.

The bobber will have alloy wheels and a semi-digital instrument cluster. It will come with a variety of factory-designed accessories once it is released.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will have dual-channel ABS for better braking performance and disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels for increased rider safety.

Inverted forks at the front and preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers at the back should handle the bobber motorcycle's suspension needs.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine as the Super Meteor 650. The mill is capable of producing 52Nm of peak torque and 47 horsepower of maximum power. The motor would probably be connected to a 6-speed gearbox.

At its launch event in India, which is scheduled to take place in the upcoming months, Royal Enfield will make the pricing and availability information for the upcoming Shotgun 650 public.

In the bikemaker's lineup, we predict the bobber-style motorcycle will fall between the Continental GT 650 and the Super Meteor 650.
The bike is anticipated to cost around Rs. 3.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
