Tragic accident! Vehicle returning from marriage fell into a ditch

Dehradun: A major accident took place in Uttarakhand on Monday night. Fourteen of the 16 persons who were travelling in the Max accident on the Drydhang-Dandaminar road, connected to the Tanakpur-Champawat highway, lost their lives. The seriously injured driver and another person have been brought to the district hospital for treatment. The accident is said to have taken place about three kilometres ahead of Bodum. The bodies are badly damaged after the accident due to which they are not being identified. Two have been identified so far. One of them is Ram Prakash Alias, Trilok Ram.  

According to the information received so far, all the occupants of Max vehicle number- UK 04, TA-4712 were returning home after attending the wedding held at Panchmukhi Dharamshala in Tanakpur. It is being said that around 3.20 pm last night, Max fell into a deep ditch uncontrollably. All the men had gone to attend the wedding of Manoj Singh, son of Laxman Singh, a resident of Kakanai. Most of the relatives of the deceased Laxman Singh are said to be relatives. Following the information, police and rescue teams rushed to the spot.  

All 14 bodies have been pulled out of the ditch. Two persons who were seriously injured in the accident have been brought to the district hospital for treatment. Here they are being given first aid. Of these, the driver's condition is more serious. The deceased are from the Danda and Kauty villages of Kaknai. The cause of the accident is not yet known. Police are investigating the case. It is being said that the accident occurred due to overloading of the capacity in the Max.
