In yet another shocking and horrific incident a 25-year-old man beat his mother to death with an iron rod after she refused to give him money to buy liquor in Lenpuri village of UP's Bijnor district.

Dinesh Singh Bijnor superintendent of police in Bijnore said, The incident took place on Thursday night. "The accused, identified as Devendra Saini, is a habitual drinker. He has been arrested and sent to jail under judicial custody," He further added, "Saini attacked his mother, Samundra Devi, 65, with an iron rod following an argument after she refused to give him money to buy liquor. She died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.

A police team rushed to the spot on being informed about the incident by the villagers. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant section of IPC based on the complaint of the brother of the accused, said police. The body of the victim was sent for postmortem. The incident took place Thursday night in a village in the Chandpur police station area of the district. The police is now investigating into the whole matter.
