New Delhi: A new report claims that millions of more people may have died in India than official corona infection figures. The report said that an additional 34 to 49 lakh deaths are estimated during the corona epidemic during this period. The report was released on Tuesday. The report has been prepared by former Chief Economic Advisor to India Arvind Subramanian, Justin Sandefur of the US think tank Centre for Global Development and Abhishek Anand of Harvard University.
The authors of the report said, "All estimates suggest that the death toll from the epidemic could be much higher than the official number of 400,000.'' He said in his report that the actual number of deaths is expected to be in the millions and is India's most feared human tragedy since partition and independence. He estimates that between January 2020 and June 2021, 34 to 49 lakh people have died.
According to Official Data of India, the total death toll was 4.18 lakh on Wednesday. According to the report, there is no official estimate of the death toll from Covid in India, and in view of this, researchers have estimated mortality from three different sources from the beginning of the epidemic till June this year.
