New Delhi: Edge 40 Pro, a new flagship smartphone from Motorola, has gone on sale in Europe. The high-end phone has a 50MP primary camera, a top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 165Hz pOLED display, and 125W fast charging.

It is only available in a 12GB/256GB configuration, and later this month, India is where it will reportedly make its debut.

The company's renamed X40 flagship, which debuted in China last year, is essentially the Edge 40 Pro. The device sets a new standard for Samsung, Xiaomi, and OPPO in Europe with its high-end hardware and technology.

If priced competitively, it could hurt sales of the S23+ and S23 Ultra in India where it will take the place of the Edge 30 Pro from the previous year.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has curved edges, a punch-hole cutout that is centred, and an in-display fingerprint. It boasts IP68 water resistance and a rectangular camera module.

A 6.67-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) pOLED display with a refresh rate of 165Hz, 394ppi pixel density, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection is featured on the device. It weighs about 200 grammes and has a thickness of 8.6mm.

The 50MP (f/1.8, OIS) primary sensor, 50MP ultra-wide lens, and 12MP portrait camera on the Motorola Edge 40 Pro are all included in the device. It has a 60MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Additionally, the phone can record 8K videos.

A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset powers the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, which also has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The system starts with Android 13. A 4,600mAh battery with 125 fast-charging and 15W wireless charging support is housed inside. It has dual SIM slots, GPS, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and a Type-C port for connectivity. It also supports 5G.

Priced at €899.99 (roughly Rs. 80,500), the Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be available for purchase soon. It will be offered in a single 12GB/256GB configuration in Europe and Latin America. The phone is available in Lunar Black and Interstellar Blue colours.
