New Delhi: The latest wireless audio wearable from Sony, the WF-C700, has been unveiled. It features Active Noise Cancelation, 360-degree audio, 7.5 hours of playback with ANC, and more. The audio product, which costs €129 (approximately Rs. 11,550), competes in the European markets against the just-released Nothing Ear (2).
Like its predecessor, the WF-C500, the WF-C700 has an ergonomic design and a secure in-ear fit. The earbuds come with a cylindrical charging case and are water-resistant to IPX4 standards.
The controls are tap and hold. The transparently designed Nothing's Ear (2) provides IP54 and IP55 protection for the wireless charging case and the buds, respectively. Pinch controls are available. Per bud, they weigh 4.6g and 4.5g, respectively.

Each bud of the WF-C700 is fitted with a 5mm driver. To recover high-frequency sound that was compressed out of existence, the DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) sound upscaling technology is built in. Each bud has an 11.6mm dynamic driver inside the Ear (2).
Through the Sony Headphones Connect and NothingX apps, respectively, both provide ANC with customization. Transparency mode is supported, and the WF-C700 includes 360 Reality Audio.

With AAC and SBC codes, the WF-C700 offers Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. Bluetooth 5.3, LHDC 5.0, AAC, and SBC codes are provided for The Ear (2). For lossless audio improvements over wireless connections, it has Hi-Res Audio certification.
The effective listening distance offered by both wearables is up to 10 metres. However, the WF-C700 offers a longer playback duration (7.5h v/s 4h) than EarPods when ANC is enabled (2).
The cost of Sony's WF-C700 is €129. (around Rs. 11,550). There are colour options available in Black, White, Lavender, and Sage Green. The Ear (2) is only available in the colour White and costs €149 (about Rs. 13,350) in Europe.
Compared to the Ear, the WF-C700 is both more affordable and powerful (2). For a rich listening experience, it supports DSEE sound upscaling and spatial audio.
