USA: The rise of ChatGPT and companies like it have shown that no white-collar job is safe. But if you believe that blue-collar jobs are exempt from the reach of AI, you are in for a shock.

The world's first AI-powered humanoid robot has been introduced by 1X, a startup backed by OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT. By doing this, 1X has surpassed comparable initiatives from Tesla and Sanctuary AI.

It is anticipated that humanoid robots equipped with cutting-edge AI will revolutionise the global labour market. When they begin to work, such humanoids won't be nearly as developed as humans.

However, if the last few months of generative AI are any indication, they will pick things up quickly. By 2027, the market for humanoid robotics is anticipated to grow to $17.3 billion.

EVE is the brand-new robot from 1X. EVE is essentially a live-action RoboCop. The robot has two independent arms, a face, and a head. The business has used the robots in two industrial settings as security guards.

It is capable of carrying out numerous actions that humans do, such as opening doors and windows, obtaining objects, packing goods, and other duties.

It's interesting to note that human security personnel are in charge of EVE. Security personnel can virtually enter and control the robot's body if it has any problems. The CEO and founder of 1X, Bernt Bornich, expressed his hope that the robot will soon be used to care for the elderly. It will initially patrol the streets.

A few days after Tesla provided an update on its humanoid robot programme, 1X deployed EVE in a professional setting. In recently released videos, the robot, also known as Optimus or Tesla Bot, appears more authentic.

Elon Musk is extremely optimistic about Tesla's humanoid programme. He informed investors last month that Optimus will be worth more to Tesla than cars.

The humanoid robot market will undoubtedly become more competitive as a result of EVE. The general-purpose Phoenix robot from Sanctuary AI is almost ready for deployment.

The commercially successful humanoid robot Figure 01. is another project being worked on by Figure AI. In the meantime, OpenAI recently invested in 1X with the intention of developing a bipedal humanoid. Think of a robot with a GPT-4-based brain.
