Andhra Pradesh: Siripuram Uchitha of Davidigam village committed suicide on Thursday at Bhavanapadu beach of Srikakulam mandal. According to the police, Uchitha (21) of Davidigam village near Paralakhemundi in Odisha was in love with Purukonda Durgaprasad of the same village for eight years. Durga Prasad had married another woman five years ago and has a son. The love affair between Durga Prasad and Sahitya continued nonetheless. They both came to Bhavanapadu beach on Thursday.
The victim reached the nearby garden after taking a bath. and committed suicide by consuming insecticide. Seeing the fishermen informed the local police. The victim had already died before Naupada sub-inspector Sai Kumar reached the spot. After knowing the details, a case was registered and the body was sent to Tekkali District Central Hospital for postmortem. The father of the deceased used to work as a tailor in Vizag Auto Nagar.

The death toll in Andhra Pradesh has risen to 14,286 with 10 new deaths in the last 24 hours. According to the health department, 540 fresh cases were registered, taking the total number of cases across the state to 20,59,122. On the other hand, 557 new patients were cured on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries to 20,38,248 and there are currently 6588 active cases. Andhra Pradesh has so far conducted 2.89 Covid-19 tests across the state, which includes 50,350 tests in the last twenty-four hours. The state has vaccinated more than four crore people across the state in Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government has extended the night curfew till October 31 after reviewing the coronavirus cases. The curfew will be in force from 12 am to 6 am.
