Amritsar: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday announced the names of 15 more candidates for next year's proposed Punjab assembly elections. This is the fifth list released by the main opposition party in the state and with this, the number of candidates announced by the AAP has increased to 88. Punjab has 117 assembly seats for which elections are proposed next year.
According to the latest list of AAP candidates, Kulwant Singh from Mohali seat, Gurdeep Singh Randhawa from Dera Baba Nanak, Baldev Singh from Raja Sansi, Manju Rana from Kapurthala, Ratan Singh from Shahkot, Sheetal Angural from Jalandhar West, Jeet Lal Bhatti from Adampur and Kuljit Singh from Banga have been given tickets. On the other hand, Charanjit Singh from Chamkaur Sahib, Rupinder Singh from Bassi Pathana, Rajinder Kaur from Ludhiana South, Ranveer Singh from Ferozepur City, Jagroop Singh from Bathinda Urban, Jaswant Singh from Amargarh and Gurdev Singh from Nabha have been fielded by AAP.
It may be noted here that AAP has fielded a candidate named Charanjit Singh from the constituency of Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi. This AAP tactic can create confusion among voters. Perhaps that is why Kejriwal has taken this step with the intention of taking advantage. Charanjit Singh Channi is currently MLA congress from Chamkaur Sahib seat and will contest from there.
