Amritsar: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), rattled by its landslide victory in the Panjab assembly elections, has decided to launch a mass membership drive in the states of South India. Senior AAP leader Somnath Bharti on Friday informed that the party will launch membership drives in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Talking to the press, he said, "After the spectacular victory of AAP in Punjab, the people of the southern regions have shown interest towards our party. We have received an unprecedented response from South India," he said, adding, "Considering the attitude of the people and the response our team is getting in the southern states, we have decided to launch a membership drive in the entire region."

Somnath Bharti further said that the membership drive will be taken forward by local groups of AAP. "I call upon the people that those who want change in Indian politics should join you and be a part of the revolution. Bharti further said that the party has also decided to take out a promenade in the southern states in a phased manner. Let us know that in Punjab, AAP has won 92 seats unilaterally and now Bhagwant Mann will be the CM there.
