Patna: New cases of cybercrime are being seen in Bihar every day. Now, cybercriminals have started targeting common people as well as special people. The news is from the capital Patna where cyber fraud tried to blow up 90 thousand rupees from the bank account of Bihar Chief Secretary Amir Subhani. However, the criminal could not succeed in his intention.  

In connection with the same incident, it is being told that on Sunday, cybercriminals tried to withdraw money from the chief secretary's account, but as soon as Amir Subhani got a whiff of this, he became alert. He immediately took action and informed the Economic Offences Unit (EOU). After receiving the news, Rs 90,000 was blocked and further action was taken.

As soon as the news of the same case was received, the EOU team took immediate action and arrested the fraudster within two hours. EOU is doing further investigation and inquiry by registering an FIR in the matter. What is the criminal history of the arrested fraudster, for how many days has he been doing this type of work, for all such questions, the team of EOU is interrogating the arrested fraudster. However, the EOU has not yet issued an official statement regarding this. Bihar has registered 309 cyber crimes in 2016, 433 in 2017, 374 in 2018, 1,050 in 2019 and 1,512 in 2020. Online transactions in Bihar have increased 15 to 20 times in the last 10 years. Cybercrime cases have increased a hundred times in 10 years at a faster rate than this. Among the 40 police districts of the state, the maximum number of cybercrime takes place in the capital Patna. On the other hand, if we talk about cybercrime at the national level, then in the year 2021, a total of 52,974 cases were registered. In 2020 this figure was 50,035. According to the 2021 report of NCRB, crime increased by 5 per cent in 2021. Compared to 2019, cybercrime increased by more than 15 per cent.
