New Delhi: In the Delhi Assembly elections, Jarnail Singh of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from Tilak Nagar has defeated Rajiv Babbar of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a fierce competition. Jarnail Singh won this by a margin of 15,000 votes. Jarnail Singh received 28,876 votes in Tilak Nagar seat while Rajiv Babbar got 10,665 votes.

Jarnail Singh got 68 percent of the votes while the BJP candidate got more than 28 percent of the seats. The Congress is unlikely to get a single seat out of the 70 seats in Delhi. Congress candidate Raminder Singh from Tilak got only 642 votes. Accordingly, the Congress has got only 2 percent votes. Interestingly, not one, two but three Jarnail Singhs were standing from Tilaknagar. There were two independent candidates, named Jarnail Singh, who received 266 and 189 votes.

Amanatullah of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also won from Okhla Assembly seat. In the initial trend, he was trailing Brahm Singh of BJP. Shaheen Bagh comes under the Okhla Assembly seat where protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) have been going on for the past one and a half months.
