Lucknow: Nikhat Bano, wife of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) MLA Abbas Ansari, who was lodged in Chitrakoot district jail in Uttar Pradesh, was being interrogated by the police for three days. After the revelations made in this interrogation, Nikhat's special assistant and Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary in Chitrakoot Faraz Khan has been arrested by the police. In fact, during the interrogation of Nikhat during the 3-day police remand, there have been many surprising revelations.
According to the report, Nikhat Bano came to Chitrakoot on December 18 and met her husband Abbas Ansari in jail for just five days before her arrest on February 10. Between December 18 and February 10, Nikhat used to meet her husband Abbas Ansari for hours in jail every day except for six days. SP district general secretary Faraz Khan has been arrested in Chitrakoot for allegedly providing a room for Nikhat to stay in Chitrakoot and arranging vehicles for him. Faraz is accused of extorting money from his bank account and sending it to jail officials, lawyers, and others.
Giving information about this whole matter, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Chitrakoot Dham Division Vipin Mishra has said that more revelations have been made during the interrogation of MLA Abbas's wife Nikhat. There is a long chain of people associated with the Nikhat case. In which, people from other districts around Chitrakoot are also included. As strong evidence is found against their helpers in the police investigation, the police will take further action. The remand of Abbas's wife Nikhat Bano has ended, while the five-day remand of his driver Niaz Ahmed will continue till Tuesday (February 21). The remand period of both of them started from 10 am on February 17.
What is the whole case?
In fact, Nikhat Bano used to go to meet MLA Abbas Ansari imprisoned in Chitrakoot jail illegally. Nikhat was arrested on February 10 for illegally meeting her husband in the deputy jailer's room in Chitrakoot jail. Police had said that several incriminating items, including two mobile phones, and foreign currency, were recovered from Nikhat. After this case, Abbas has been shifted to Kasangaj jail in Uttar Pradesh. Abbas Ansari, son of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari and SBSP MLA from Mau Sadar, was lodged in Chitrakoot jail for the last three months in a money laundering case.
On the complaint of ASI Shyamdev Singh, in-charge of Chitrakoot Ragauli jail police station, a case was registered against five people, including jail superintendent Ashok Kumar Sagar, deputy jailor, a constable, Abbas's wife Nikhat and his driver Niaz Ahmed on several serious charges including criminal conspiracy and tampering of evidence. In this case, the jail superintendent and 7 other employees were suspended and departmental action has been initiated against them.
