BSF on Thursday recovered about 10 kg ganja and 146 bottles of banned cough syrup along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Assam in all operations. The operation was carried out by soldiers of 38 and 47 battalions of BSF under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier. While maintaining the momentum of the campaign against drug trafficking, BSF troops carried out 8 operations along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Assam on the night of August 10 and 11. 5 kg of cannabis, 208 bottles of banned cough syrup, and 12 bottles of liquor were also recovered.
Under Guwahati Frontier, BSF jawans of 38, 47, and 75 battalions on 8th August at the same border 26. 6 kg of cannabis and 96 bottles of phenyl were also recovered. On August 7, 10 Bangladeshis were also apprehended by BSF jawans of 192 battalions under the Guwahati border while they were illegally trying to cross the Indo-Bangladesh international border.
Same BSF, one 2. 5 lakh strong force is necessary to protect Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Pakistan border and curb illegal entry as we are in the form of illegal activities like drugs, weapons, cattle, fake Indian currency notes as well as human trafficking. Even after the ongoing Corona threat, BSF soldiers deputed along the Indo-Bangladesh border were kept busy by notorious smugglers in their attempt to smuggle drugs, gold, weapons, and cattle from across the border.
