The Irrigation Department's Deputy Engineer (DE) was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials for taking bribe. According to the report, de Ravinder Reddy was arrested by the red-handed officials for taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the contractor.

To pass the contract bill, the officer demanded a bribe from the contractor. However, the contractor who did not want to bribe the officer contacted the ACB officials and caught the DE red handed. DE Ravinder Reddy is being questioned.

This is not the first time that the irrigation department has arrested a person in a bribery case. Earlier, in July 2020, an Assistant Executive Engineer (AE) of the Irrigation Department was arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a contractor in Yelland. AEE Sriram Naveen Kumar demanded that the contractor under the Mission Kakatiya project be bribed to process the final bill of the Anantaram Tank renovation works.
