Kurnool: Finance Minister Bugna Rajendranath Reddy said that the government has sanctioned Rs 82 crore for laying a closed pipeline for water supply from Sankesula reservoir to summer storage tank. He said in a review meeting with the concerned officials at the state guest house here on Tuesday. He has also directed the officers of the Municipal Corporation to expedite the development works started under the corporation limits.

He further said that a sewage treatment plant was also sanctioned to Kurnool at a cost of Rs 79.78 crore. He directed the officials to invite tenders and start the work at the earliest so that there is no sewage water in Tungabhadra river. He also asked the officials to expedite the tendering process for the works sanctioned at a cost of Rs.9.8 crore to be taken from Kids World to the Collectorate. Bugna ordered the officials to complete the unfinished bridge construction works on the Hundari river connecting the old town and Johrapuram village. He said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving immediate approval to whatever is sought for development of Kurnool. 

The Finance Minister said that, after the YSRCP government came to power, 8,000 acres of land was acquired for the Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy airport. Bugna said that one of the best Silver Jubilee Colleges and Cluster University would be started near Jagannath Gattu and permission was also awaited to start National Law University. District Collector P Koteswara Rao, Kurnool and Nandyal MP Sanjeev Kumar, Pocha Bhramanand Reddy, Panayam MLAs, Kurnool, Kodumur, Katasai Rambupal Reddy, Hafeez Khan, Dr J Sudhakar, Mayor B Ramaiah, Commissioner DK Balaji and other department officials were present in the review meeting.
