Lucknow: Expressing apprehension over corruption and role of Municipal Commissioner in Lucknow Municipal Corporation of Uttar Pradesh, the country's largest state, Mayor Samyukta Bhatia has recommended investigation of top officers from EOW and Alert Department. In this connection, the Mayor has sent a secret letter to the government recommending investigation of corruption and disproportionate assets against Municipal Commissioner Indramani Tripathi and the Chief Engineer.

In this connection, he has sent a letter to the Principal Secretary, Lucknow in-charge Minister, Urban Development Minister and CM. According to the letter, the top officials of Municipal Corporation have bought large number of benami properties in the name of their relatives. Apart from this, the officers work to get the tender to their relatives and loved ones, but there is a problem of postponing the tender till the tender is not received.

Vigilance investigation is in demand, citing complaints like attempting to trap and investigate the protesters in this case. According to the secret letter written by the same mayor, the Telibag resident complainant, while addressing the PM, wrote a letter of complaint on June 28 to the Municipal Commissioner and the Chief Engineer regarding looting, corruption, benami property collection for looting black money. In addition to the letter, the complainant has also obtained several forms and audio recordings, on the basis of which vigilance inquiry has been made without any discrimination demands, along with this investigation is being done on the whole case.
