Neha Sargam, an actor, and singer, believes that the success of OTT is due in large part to its relatable content.
"OTT is thriving in large part because the right kinds of stories are being told. A big franchise has developed for shows that debuted a year or two ago. The most important factor is content, and because OTT viewers are so intelligent, they never tolerate poor content, according to the Mirzapur 2 actor who will also appear in the upcoming season.
Sargam's connection to the medium is stronger due to his longer tenure as a TV performer.
"TV is such a fantastic medium, and it has all the tools necessary to dominate other media, but it couldn't happen. In this industry, people put in a lot of effort, but because of the dearth of high-quality content, it is all for nothing. I believe those connected to television ought to be treated with much greater respect. No matter how much good work we produce, it never amounts to much. It simply escapes notice! To reclaim the respect that television once enjoyed in the 1990s, I believe the content needs to be increased.
The mythological characters that Sargam has played in shows like Ramayan and Mahabharat, as well as in her own ongoing series, are well known.
"I approach mythological characters without any preconceived ideas; perhaps this is why they seem relevant and fit with the show's premise. I appreciate how realistic these characters are in contrast to contemporary fictional characters that can occasionally seem so surreal, like my role as Yashoda in Yashomati Maiyaa Ke Nandlala. I play either role to the best of my ability because I have experience in both genres, the actor from Chand Chupa Badal Mein and the musical drama Mughal-e-Azam continues.
