Actor-politician JK Rithesh passes away at 46

Actor and politician JK Rithesh, who recently appeared in LKG, has died at the age of 46. JK Rithesh was also a member of the AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) political party. The actor-politician reportedly complained of severe chest pain at the time he was campaigning in his hometown constituency of Ramanathapuram. He had also been a member of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and a Member of Parliament as well.

 Ramesh Bala, film critic and trade analyst shared the information through Twitter. He wrote, “#BREAKING: Actor and Ex-Lok Sabha MP #JKRitheesh who was recently seen in the movie #LKG is no more. He died of a heart attack sometime back in #Ramanathapuram. May his soul RIP!”

Tithesh had started off his political career by joining Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party but in 2014, he quit in order to join AIADMK. He had appeared in four Tamil movies throughout his career. He made his debut with the 2007 movie Kaanal Neer. He went on to appear in Nayagan and made a cameo appearance in the 2010 movie Pen Singam. He was last seen as Ramraj Pandian, a negative character in KR Prabhu's LKG, which had released on February 22 this year and saw RJ Balaji and Priya Anand in the lead roles.

JK Rithesh was born in Kandy (Sri Lanka) before migrating to Rameswaram in 1976. He is survived by his wife and son.
