The proceedings have been adjourned in the Rajya Sabha till March 13 due to the continuous sloganeering by Opposition leaders. Drama has arisen after parts of congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s speech which claims the House was acting under pressure from the government were expunged.

The chaos has broken out after several Congress leaders and leader of opposition Mallikarjun Kharge’s speech. The opposition has been cornering the Modi government over the Hindenburg report on the Adani Group.

Opposition MPs Raghav Chaddha, Sanjay Singh, Imran Pratapgarhi, Shakti Singh Gohil, Sandeep Pathak and Kumar Ketkar among the others warned by the Chair for entering the well of the House today.

The members began raising slogans when the Chairman turned down multiple opposition leaders' notices, and many of them continued shouting "JPC se Jaanch Karao" (investigate through JPC) in the House on the Adani issue. The members of the opposition also raised other slogans in the House.

While addressing a press conference BJP leader Pralhad Joshi and Piyush Goyal demanded an apology from Opposition leaders for allegedly obstructing the functioning of Parliament.

With this high drama Rajya Sabha Parliamentary Budget Session has come to an end and will now reopen in March for the second part of the budget session.

“LoP, you’ve indicated in so many words that the Chair is acting under pressure. These words are expunged. You are forfeiting your right to hold the floor of the House every time you are saying that the Chair is acting under pressure,” Jagdeep Dhankhar said.

Jagdeep Dhankhar said, 'Deliberate obstruction is being created & this is not the way to run House. We have already wasted a lot of time. If the House is subjected to such disruption, I will be constrained to act as per the expectation of people.'

Chairperson tried taking the proceedings ahead amidst the ongoing ruckus and said, “expect everyone in the House to help in running it smoothly.” “I appeal to all of you that we have to maintain our conduct so that people of the country like it", he added.

In the meantime, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, "it is truly an insult of the House…”, and asked Dhankhar to adjourn the house for some time and also warn the members.

Today in Rajya Sabha, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda has set to move the bill to further amend the Constitution (schedule tribes) Order, 1950 for the inclusion of certain communities in the list of a Scheduled Tribes in Chhattisgarh.
