Washington [US], September 17: Adria Arjona, known for her role in the romantic comedy Hit Man and recent appearance in Father of the Bride, is in negotiations to star in the upcoming action thriller Onslaught. Arjona is also set to serve as an executive producer for the film.

Details about the movie's plot are currently under wraps, but it has been described as a "gonzo action horror thriller." Adam Wingard, who directed Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, will helm the project.

Arjona is expected to portray a mother who uses her unique skills to protect her family after encountering a threat that has escaped from a secret military base.

The film will be produced by Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett through their Ryder Picture Company, in collaboration with A24 and Alexander Black from Lyrical Media. Wingard and Jeremy Platt will also produce, with Jon Rosenberg and Natalie Sellers from Lyrical Media serving as executive producers alongside A24.

Arjona’s notable works include Emerald City, Good Omens, and Andor. She has also featured in Life of the Party and Triple Frontier. Recently, she appeared in Zoe Kravitz's directorial debut Blink Twice and will return for the second season of Andor. In the early 1990s, she starred in the indie drama Los Frikis set in Cuba, which she also executive produced and received acclaim at various film festivals.
