Washington: Actress Pamela Anderson is set to be honored with the prestigious Golden Eye Award at the Zurich Film Festival. The award will be presented to Anderson on October 4 in recognition of her remarkable career achievements.

The Zurich Film Festival, which takes place annually in Zurich, Switzerland, will run from October 3 to October 13. During the festival, Pamela Anderson will showcase her latest film, Gia Coppola's The Last Showgirl.

In The Last Showgirl, Anderson stars as Shelley, a 50-year-old showgirl whose long-running Las Vegas show is abruptly canceled after 30 years. The film explores Shelley's journey through life's uncertainties and her efforts to repair her relationship with her daughter, aided by her colleague Annette, portrayed by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Christian Jungen, artistic director of the Zurich Film Festival, praised Anderson's performance, saying, "Pamela poured her heart and soul into the character of Shelley and captivated us right from the start. She completely immersed herself in her character, turning Shelley's inner life inside out with her facial expressions and making sure that we sympathized with her."

Jungen continued, "A terrific performance, perhaps the best of her career, which deserves an Oscar nomination. We are therefore delighted to honor Pamela Anderson, this cult actress with whom many of us have grown up and who has reinvented herself time and again, at the Zurich Film Festival."

The Last Showgirl is a 2024 American drama film directed by Gia Coppola and written by Kate Gersten. The film features a stellar cast including Pamela Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, and Billie Lourd.

Pamela Anderson's notable works include Raw Justice, Barb Wire, Scary Movie 3, Borat, Superhero Movie, The Institute, Baywatch, and City Hunter, among others.
