Drugs case: Lawyer who saved Salman in hit-and-run case will now fight Aryan's case, hearing today

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's bail is scheduled to be heard in court today. Aryan Khan, who is caught in a drugs case, is currently lodged in Arthur Road jail. Aryan's lawyers have been working for the past several days for bail, but every time the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) puts some hurdles in place. Aryan's bail was also postponed in the sessions court on October 11. Now everyone is waiting for the decision on his bail to be taken today.

Aryan Khan's case was still being fought by lawyer Satish Mansinde, but now Shah Rukh Khan has hired senior advocate Amit Desai for the case. Amit Desai is the same lawyer who acquitted Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case. He has now been entrusted with the responsibility of expelling Aryan Khan from bars. Amit Desai was also seen in the sessions court with Satish Mansinde on October 11. He was here for Aryan's bail. On October 11, the NCB had sought a stay till Wednesday over Aryan's bail in the sessions court. Aryan's two lawyers Amit Desai and Satish Mansinde had reached the court only at 10.30 am. But Am Chimalker, a special prosecutor who is looking into NCB's case, said it is taking time for them to gather evidence as investigations are underway.

After the arguments, Judge VV Pat Ltd had given NCB time to file his reply by 11 am on Wednesday, October 13. The hearing will take place at 2:45 p.m. The NCB has so far questioned several people in the case and is still investigating them. NCB questioned Shah Rukh Khan's driver for 12 hours on October 9. According to NCB sources, the driver had admitted to dropping Aryan and Arbaaz Merchant on the cruise terminal. The driver was also questioned about the activities of Aryan and his friends.
