BANGALORE: The Ministry of Defence led by Rajnath Singh  will organise a 'CEOs Round Table' on February 13, the inaugural day of Aero India 2023,  an official statement said on Wednesday.

According to a Ministry release, the platform, with the subject "Sky is not the limit: Opportunities beyond borders," is expected to lay the groundwork for a stronger connection between industry partners and the government with a view to advancing the Make in India campaign.

It is further expected to increase 'EASE OF DOING BUSINESS' in India and also provide a favorable platform to Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for manufacturing in India.

Officials, delegates, and CEOs from 26 nations, including major investors like Boeing, Lockheed, Israel Aerospace Industries, General Atomics, Liebherr Group, Raytheon Technologies, Safran, and General Authority of Military Industries, will attend the Round Table (GAMI).

Participating PSUs from within the country include MishraDhatu Nigam Ltd., Bharat Electronics Ltd., Bharat Dynamics Ltd., and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.

Leading Indian manufacturers of aerospace and defence products including Larsen & Toubro, Bharat Forge, Dynamatic Technologies, and BrahMos Aerospace are also likely to participate in the event.

As a result, businesses would collaborate on co-creation and co-development, and India would become a hub for commercial manufacturing and a basis for international product support. It will examine both Indian and international markets and provide businesses the chance to not just "Make in India," but also "Make in India for the World."

India's economy has become one of the fastest expanding in the world, offering a healthy and secure environment for commerce and investment.

India has the third-largest military in the world, and over the next 5-7 years, the government aims to invest $130 billion in fleet modernization. The government has taken a number of policy steps to encourage "Self-reliance" in the Indian defence manufacturing eco-system, including de-licensing, deregulation, and positive indigenization lists for import substitution, export promotion, FDI liberalisation, and establishment of Defense Industrial Corridors, among others.

Every two years, Aero India, a top show in the world of aviation, is hosted at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka on an area of around 35,000 square metres. The expo, now in its fourteenth iteration since its founding in 1996, offers a special chance for the sector to present its capabilities, goods, and services.

731 exhibitors from all around the world took part in this year's Aero exhibition.

The five-day event, which will feature aerial performances by aircraft and a sizable exposition and trade fair of aerospace industries, will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
