The film which was supposed to be Rock On's actor Farhan Akhtar's debut is now finally ready to release after nine years. The film is titled 'The Fakir of Venice'.

According to a relevant source, "An offbeat film, it would also mark the debut of director Anand Surapur, had it released then. However, with no definite plan for it, especially in India, it languished in obscurity for years. Rock On!! came and went."

The film made the rounds of international film festivals in 2009, "

Meanwhile, Farhan continued to pick up other Bollywood assignments and did several films under his own banner. He even had a Rs 100 crore winner in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag."

"It is now being revived and a release date is planned," said a source.

"The film also stars Annu Kapoor, who is playing the title role." The release date of the film will clash with Karan Johar's Badrinath Ki Dulhania on March 10.
