Late actor Rishi Kapoor's last film 'Sharmaji Namkeen' has been released on the OTT platform. It was a special movie for the actor. His heart was very close. Rishi Kapoor failed to complete the shooting of this movie. He had passed away. Paresh Rawal was chosen for the role of Rishi Kapoor to complete the film. However, Ranbir Kapoor had a choice that he could resort to prosthetics to become Rishi Kapoor, but things didn't work out. 

The makers actually had a conversation with Ranbir Kapoor about the prosthetics and their plan was that he could have provided The Look of Rishi Kapoor to Ranbir Kapoor with the help of prosthetics and CGI and could complete the shooting of the movie, but Ranbir Kapoor could not fit the role. While interacting with the media, Ranbir Kapoor informed about it. He has said that why was he not able to fit into the role of father Rishi Kapoor in any way?

Ranbir Kapoor replied, "I remember, I was going back home from the shooting schedule, we sat together and started talking about how to take the movie forward. I had sent a few pictures of myself to the makers and they had sent it further to a CG abroad. These were going to have some special effects. The makers also told them that look if you can do anything. He wants to look like his father Rishi Kapoor. In such a situation, it could happen with the help of some CGs or prosthetics, but nothing was working, after which the makers got a great idea that The role of Rishi Kapoor can be done by Paresh Rawal ji." 

Ranbir further said that he is a great and brilliant actor. I have a lot of love and respect for Paresh sir in my heart. He became a part of the movie. He gave a tribute to an actor and my father and in the movie, he breathed his life. Very beautifully he played this role which I can't do. All things went well for this movie on their own. Not only this, 'Sharmaji Namkeen' is being aired on Amazon Prime. Juhi Chawla is also seen in the film. It is directed by Hitesh Bhatia.
