Ranchi: After 28 months, the police of Adki police station in Jharkhand dug out the body of Mithlesh Soy alias Jodan Soy in the presence of the deputed magistrate on Thursday. The body was exhumed from Udaynarayanpur under the Karaikela police station area of West Singhbhum village. The police could only find the bone claws, with which the police returned to Adki. Police are now taking further action. His family members also assisted the police in retrieving the body on Thursday.

Mithlesh Soy was killed by Maoists in Ichahatu village under the Bohonda panchayat of Adki on July 7, 2020. Mithlesh had gone to Ichahatu village to play hockey on July 7 with his village team, where CPI Maoists had reached, seeing whom Mithlesh started running away. However, while running from near the ground, the Maoists shot him on the side of the kutcha road about 300 meters away, killing him on the spot. The incident was reported to the police, but then the activities of CPI Maoists in that area were intense. For two days, the police did not go to the spot, then on the third day, the family took Mithlesh's body and buried it in their village.

On July 27, 2020, after Mithlesh Soy was killed by Maoists, a case was registered at Adki police station on the statement of the then Adki police station in-charge. SDPO Amit Kumar said that after the incident, a case was registered at Adki police station on the statement of the station house officer. After that, in the course of the research, the body has been exhumed in the presence of the Magistrate--BDO of Bandgaon deputed by the Khunti Court.
