Bijnor: The families of an IAS aspiring youth, who was allegedly killed in police firing here on 20 December 2019 during a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act in the country, have filed a complaint against 6 policemen. Anas (21) and Suleman (20) were allegedly injured in police firing when violence erupted on 20 December 2019 in Nahtour village of Bijnor district. Both were taken to the local hospital, where Anas was declared dead and Suleman died during treatment. Later, the police admitted that only Anas died from his bullet, not Suleman.

According to sources, Suleman's family has filed a case accusing 6 policemen that he was injured in police firing during the anti-CAA demonstration. According to the complaint, Suleman's family has alleged that he was returning home after offering prayers, when he was stopped by police station in-charge (SHO) Rajesh Solanki, Bijnor in-charge Ashish Tomar and some constables. After which the family claimed that the policemen dragged Suleman to a street where a constable named Mohit shot Suleman on the orders of other police officers.

In the complaint, it has been claimed that many people saw this incident there, and they are not speaking anything due to fear of the police. Suleman's family claimed that the police left him in the street, where Suleman's family reached him and took him to the hospital, where he was declared dead. After this, the police conducted a postmortem of the dead body and handed over the body to the relatives on 21 December. It is alleged that the police did not let Suleman's family bury his body in his ancestral village Nahotar. Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has already set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is engaged in investigating the cases of violence during the demonstration.
