Shimla: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which formed the government with a thumping majority in Punjab, is now eyeing the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. Till now Congress and BJP have been the major parties in this state, but AAP is trying to emerge as the third party in this state. In this sequence, AAP has started preparing to field candidates on all 68 seats of Himachal Pradesh.

Senior AAP leader and Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had announced this recently. In this episode, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann are going to jointly hold a road show in Mandi on 6 April. This program is also being considered as the formal start of the campaign for the assembly elections by AAP. In the coming days, many leaders of the state may join AAP.

Let us tell you that Naresh Varmani, who was once in BJP, has already joined AAP. Along with this, many more leaders are preparing to switch to Kejriwal's party in the coming few months. At present, a central team of AAP is on a tour of Himachal. In particular, the focus is on Una and Kangra districts, which are adjoining Punjab. Kangra has maximum 15 assembly seats.
