The farmer movement that has been going on in the country for the last two months is now getting the support of many people in the world. Following the support of American pop star Rihanna, Sweden's environmental activist Greta Thunberg has now tweeted in support of the farmers' movement and expressed her support. She wrote in a tweet along with the media report, the article reported internet shutdown at the demonstration sites. Greta tweeted that we stand in solidarity with the farmers of India. She has also used the hashtag Farmer Protest in her tweet.
According to media reports, many international artists and leaders including Greta Thunberg have spoken of standing with the farmers. All these tweets came when American pop singer Rihanna also tweeted about the peasant movement going on in India for almost 2 months. In this tweet, Rihanna shared an article, giving information about shutting down the internet at the places of protest. While retweeting this article, Rihanna wrote that why are we not talking about it? Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut also slashed out as soon as Rihanna tweeted. Kangana retweeted Rihanna's tweet and wrote that no one is talking about them because they are terrorists, not farmers. These people are working to divide India.
Apart from Rihanna, Indian activist Lisipria Kangjujam, who works for the environment, also openly expressed support for the farmer movement on Twitter. In his tweet, Lisipria Kangjuam spoke to support people of this tweet, in addition to which the international body Human Rights Watch, the organization associated with international internet rights, has supported many big names and celebrity farmers including American model Amanda Cerny.
