Mathura: Loudspeakers were not played during Friday prayers at Idgah adjoining it after the sound of loudspeakers was relieved at Shri Krishna's birthplace in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. After the state CM Yogi Adityanath urged to play loudspeakers at all religious places within the same premises, during the prayers on Friday, the Namazis in Shahi Masjid Idgah offered Namaz without a mike. It is being told that the loudspeakers at the Idgah have been voluntarily switched off.

Namazis say that loudspeakers were not used during Friday prayers. At the same time, Tanveer Ahmed, secretary of the management committee of Shahi Idgah mosque, said that three loudspeakers have been removed in the mosque and only one loudspeaker is being run in low volume. He said that it has been ensured that the sound of the loudspeaker installed in the mosque does not go outside the premises. Terming it as a step to promote religious harmony, Tanveer Ahmed said that it is a step towards promoting harmony, for which Mathura is known.

Kapil Sharma, secretary of Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, has informed that on the appeal of the state CM Yogi Adityanath, we had reduced the sound of the loudspeaker. CM Yogi had appealed that the sound of loudspeakers playing at religious places should not come out of the premises. In view of this, we have reduced the loudspeaker of the Bhagwat Bhawan temple so much that now its sound does not go outside the boundary wall.
