Dehradun: Amidstprotests over the Agnipatha scheme, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a press conference on Thursday. He said that this is a great opportunity for the youth to join the army. He said that all the youth should be benefited from this scheme. Uttarakhand has always been at the forefront of giving warriors to the country.  

The CM told the media that after 4 years of army service, the youth will be given other opportunities for the future. After the 4-year job, the service fund package will be received. They will get a special chance in jobs in the state. Employment opportunities will be provided on priority basis in various services of the state. Firemen will be provided employment in police, fire fighting and disaster management. Service rules will also be ready.

The CM further said, "With the strengthening of the country's military strength through the Agneepath scheme, the skill and commitment of the youth will also improve significantly. Chief Minister Dhami said that the Indian defence system has seen many major reforms in the last few years. With the decision taken to implement the Agneepath scheme, the youth of the country will be able to serve for 4 years in the Army. With this plan, Agniveer will be prepared, the youth of the country will be able to join the armed forces. They will be trended with new technology and the country will get high-skill armed force. The CM said that this historic decision has been taken with a view to make the army the best army in the world. Agniveers will get good salary. Under this scheme, the jawans who will leave after 4 years. The state government will give priority opportunity to such firemen in the recruitment of police. In this, 10th and 12th pass youth from 17 years 6 months to 21 years will be able to apply. If a fireveer becomes a martyr due to service to the country, his kin will receive an amount of more than one crore rupees under the service fund along with interest. Apart from this, the remaining job will also be paid. At the same time, if a fireveer becomes disabled, he will be given an amount of up to Rs 44 lakh. Apart from this, the rest of the job will also be paid. The CM said that PM Narendra Modi has always done the work of boosting the morale of the country's soldiers. Sanctioned many pending demands of the soldiers. Today, India has moved rapidly towards self-reliance in the field of defence.
