Lucknow: There have been new revelations about Murtaza Abbasi, who attacked the police force deployed outside the famous Gorakhnath temple in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district by chanting 'Allah Hu Akbar'. It is being told that Abbasi, the Yemeni-American Maulana Anwar Nasir al-Awlaki, was highly influenced by him. He used to use the SIM of the foreigner and the money was also used to reach Syria.

According to a report, Murtaza had in the last one and a half years transferred about Rs 8 lakh through banks in Nepal to Syria, which is known as the stronghold of the Islamic terrorist organization ISIS. It started from 2012 to 2015. During this time, he was doing BTech. He had contacts with notorious terrorist organizations like ISIS. He had also bought an international SIM for $29 (about Rs 2,200). Through this SIM, he used to watch videos of the inflammatory speeches of Syria, ISIS and Muslim fundamentalists.

About Rs, 20 lakh has been found in Murtaza's bank account. Police have also traced one of his telegram channels, which are being investigated. On the basis of the interrogation, the ATS has lodged raids in Kanpur, Noida, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Sambhal, Saharanpur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj and Delhi. More than 10 people have been detained after the raid, including a Maulana, a resident of Saharanpur. According to reports, the ATS has recovered Murtaza's passport. This passport is made at an address in Mumbai. Murtaza had returned from a trip to Dubai six months ago. Along with this, Abbasi also ran a WhatsApp group of a radical ideology. In that group, people from many parts of India, as well as Nepal, are also involved. Information about the people involved in this group and their activities are being collected. Police teams have also been sent to Jamnagar and Mumbai in Gujarat.

According to the report, Murtaza Abbasi had bought two bunkers and a knife from a shop on the Indo-Nepal border. After catching the bus, he came to Gorakhpur and entered the temple and attacked the policemen. Abbasi's laptop has found some videos related to Syria. Abbasi also had the grief of not being involved in the Syrian war. Abbasi's Deoband connection is also being investigated.
