ChatGPT and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are both booming. AI tools have the ability to produce high-paying jobs. Certain media reports suggested that the role of prompt engineers has come up with the rise of Artificial Intelligence which can pay a salary as high as USD 335,000 or Rs.2 crores per year, as per a report published by Bloomberg.
Prompt engineers spend their days persuading Artificial Intelligence to deliver better outcomes and assist businesses in equipping their employees with the necessary skills. Large language models, also known as LLMs, are a class of artificial intelligence language systems that have been developed by organisations including Google parent Alphabet Inc., OpenAI, and Meta Platforms Inc.
"It's like a whisperer for Artificial Intelligence. Because of its wordplay, prompt engineers frequently have backgrounds in history, philosophy, or English. You're attempting to condense something's substance or meaning into a small amount of words," explains Albert Phelps, a prompt engineer at Mudano, a division of Accenture's consulting business in Leytonstone, UK. Writing messages or "prompts" for applications like OpenArtificial Intelligence's ChatGPT, which may be saved as presets within OpenAI's playground for clients and others to utilise at a later time, is what Phelps and his coworkers do for the majority of the day. According to Phelps, who was cited by Bloomberg, a typical day for a prompt engineer entails writing five distinct prompts and having 50 encounters with ChatGPT.
For a "Prompt Engineer and Librarian," companies like Google-backed firm Anthropic are offering salaries of up to USD 335,000 in San Francisco.
A machine learning engineer who can "prompt and grasp how to get the finest result" from AI technologies is being offered up to USD 230,000 by automated document reviewer Klarity, also in California.
Boston Children's Hospital and the London law firm Mishcon de Reya have recently posted job openings for prompt engineers outside of the tech industry.
