Palaniswami, the CM candidate of ruling AIADMK has kick started his election campaign from his home constituency. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) launched the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (AIDMK) campaign for the 2021 Assembly polls on Saturday from his home constituency of Edappadi, after offering prayers at the Chenraya Perumal Temple in Periyasoragai in Salem district.
The oppposition DMK leader and Lok Sabha member Kanimozhihas begun the assembly poll campaign from Edapaddi constituency few days back, Palaniswami said party members wanted him to begin his campaign from his constituency. Edappadi assembly constituency possess a history, it is AIADMK's iron fortress and it is the only constituency that DMK has not able to win even once during the past 43 years, he said. He added, it will be a dream for DMK to win the Edapadi constituency.
He further said that his government had done its best to provide better medical, water, educational and transport facilities to the people in the Edappadi constituency. He also said, "I had never thought of becoming a Chief Minister. The opportunity was given by the God. This is an opportunity to serve the people". Palaniswami listed out the various achievements of the ruling AIADMK government and confidently said not only Kanimozhi, even if all the DMK leaders campaign, AIADMK cannot be felled. He expressed his party's pride stating AIADMK has ruled the state for 36 long years, the only party to have ruled for a such a long period. He also said the AIADMK party and its allies will win majority of the seats in the 2021 polls and form the government while appealing to the voters to vote for the two leaves symbol.
