New Delhi: The parliament session has begun on Monday amid the Corona pandemic. As soon as the session began, the opposition raised the issue of the suspension of question hour in Parliament. Meanwhile, AIMIM chief and MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi demanded that suspension of question hour is a major threat to the parliamentary system. Owaisi demanded a division on the issue.

Asaduddin Owaisi said that "The suspension of question hour and Private Member Bill is unfair and is a threat to the parliamentary system". Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla rejected the demand for a division from Owaisi. At the start of the session, Parliamentary Minister Prahlad Joshi proposed in the House that the Question Hour should be adjourned. On which Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury expressed opposition and said that question hour is the right of MPs. While the government is evading responsibility towards the general public, the government should not avert the question hour. Apart from Congress, AIMIM, the TMC also condemned the government on the issue.

In Parliament, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement on the issue and said he had spoken to leaders of all parties before the House. In which he had briefed on the matter, most of the parties had agreed in the matter.
