Air Asia Launches Direct Thiruvananthapuram-Kuala Lumpur Flight Service

Air Asia Berhad is set to commence a direct flight service from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, starting from February 21, according to an announcement from the airport. The service will be facilitated by an Airbus 320 aircraft capable of accommodating 180 passengers.

Initially, flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Thiruvananthapuram, with arrival scheduled for 11:50 PM and departure at 12:25 AM.

This marks Air Asia's debut service from Thiruvananthapuram, offering enhanced connectivity not only to Kuala Lumpur but also to various other destinations including Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. This expansion addresses the persistent demand for increased connectivity to East Asian countries, which has been advocated for by various sectors, notably IT companies.

The introduction of this service is expected to invigorate the travel and tourism sectors of Kerala and southern Tamil Nadu, contributing to their economic growth and development.

AirAsia's inaugural service from Thiruvananthapuram will offer not only direct flights to Kuala Lumpur but also improved connectivity to Southeast Asian countries like Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore. The demand for increased connectivity to East Asian countries, particularly from corporates and IT firms, has long been evident. This new service is anticipated to significantly enhance the travel and tourism industries in Kerala and southern Tamil Nadu.
