Today we are going to tell you the mythological story of this fast.

Legend of Aja / Jaya Ekadashi - When Kuntiputra Yudhishthira started saying, "O God! What is the name of Bhadrapada Krishna Ekadashi? Say the method of observing fast and its great grace'. Madhusudan started saying that the name of this Ekadashi is Aja. It is going to destroy all kinds of sins. On this Ekadashi, there is a law to worship Lord Vishnu. A person who worships Lord Rishikesh on this day definitely receives Vaikuntha. Now you hear its story. According to the legend of this Ekadashi, in ancient times a Chakravarti king named Harishchandra ruled.

He surrendered all his kingdom and wealth under some karma, and sold his woman, son and himself. He became the slave of King Chandal, wearing the truth and taking the clothes of the dead but in no way deviated from the truth. Many times, the king drowned in a sea of anxiety and thought in his mind that where should I go, what should I do, so that I can be saved. Thus many years passed for the king. One day the king was sitting in the same concern that Gautam Rishi came. On seeing him, the king bowed and told all his sad stories. On hearing this, Gautam Rishi said that Rajan, luck will come to you seven days from today, Ekadashi of Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha will come, you do it in a systematic manner.
