In a recent development, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval has met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss ongoing regional issues, with a particular focus on addressing the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed the meeting, stating that they discussed recent developments in the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

The conflict in Gaza, sparked by an attack by Hamas militants on October 7, has resulted in significant casualties on both sides. Israel launched a military operation in response, leading to the deaths of over 30,000 Palestinians and approximately 1,200 Israelis, with hundreds more taken hostage. Discussions during the meeting also centered on efforts to secure the release of hostages and the pressing need for humanitarian aid.

The situation in Gaza has deteriorated rapidly, with the United Nations warning of catastrophic levels of food insecurity affecting more than 576,000 people, constituting a quarter of the population in the Gaza Strip. International pressure has mounted on Israel to increase humanitarian aid delivery, including calls for expanded land routes and additional crossings.

During his visit, Ajit Doval also met with his Israeli counterpart, Tzakhi Hanegbi, further reinforcing bilateral discussions on regional stability and cooperation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has maintained close communication with key leaders in the region, including those from the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan. India has actively supported efforts to provide essential humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian population in Gaza, dispatching shipments of vital supplies.

The meeting between Ajit Doval and Benjamin Netanyahu underscores the importance of international collaboration in addressing humanitarian crises and promoting peace and stability in conflict-affected regions.
