Valimai, starring Ajith Kumar, is one of the most awaited Tamil films of 2022, and it will be released on January 13th. On the Pongal/Sankranthi 2022 weekend, the film will face the most competition at the box office, as Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's Pan-India blockbuster Radhe Shyam will be released on January 14.

The fight of the 'titans' at the box office, however, will not make a significant difference, since Valimai will earn the most in Tamil Nadu, while Radhe Shyam will earn the most in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. Valimai, on the other hand, is censored with a U/A certificate and has a runtime of 178.35 minutes (2 hours 58 mins and 35 secs).

H. Vinoth wrote and directed the action thriller Valimai, which was produced by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP. The antagonist is played by Telugu actor Karthikeya Gummakonda of RX 100 fame, while the female protagonist is played by Huma Qureshi.

Yuvan Shankar Raja wrote the soundtrack for the film, which also includes cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Vijay Velukutty.
