Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party (SP) has suffered a crushing defeat in the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance has returned to power in a spectacular manner by winning 273 of the state's 403 assembly seats. The Opposition alliance led by the Samajwadi Party (SP) has won 125 seats. After the sub-district election defeat, SP national president Akhilesh Yadav seems to be inactive mode.
Akhilesh Yadav has called a meeting of the newly elected SP MLAs from 11 am on March 21. Akhilesh Yadav has directed all the newly-elected MLAs to reach the SP office in Lucknow for the legislature party meeting on the scheduled date and time. Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav had tweeted his reaction to the state's election results. Akhilesh Yadav had accepted the mandate in a tweet and said that the people have increased our seats by two and a half times. He had expressed his gratitude to the people while accepting the mandate. Now Akhilesh Yadav has also called a meeting of the legislature party.
