New Delhi: On Friday, reaching to the electorate ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019, the Samajwadi Party, which is contesting in alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), released its manifesto. Among the major promises made by the Akhilesh-Yadav led party, is the roll-out of a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 per month to the "poor women". Here it is to be noted tha the Samajwadi Pension Yojana, announced SP president Akhilesh Yadav, would assure Rs 3,000 per month to all women who fall below the poverty line. However, it is worth mention here that on the rich elite, the party promises to impose 2 per cent tax, which would be used for welfare. The tax would be imposed on all those with assets of more than Rs 2.5 crore.To be noted that the SP document also promises to spend six per cent of the GDP on education, apart from raising the expenditure on healthcare. Speaking on the occasion, Akhilesh asked the Centre to make the caste census data public for social justice. Hitting out at the "rich elites", he said that 10 per cent of the country's population was controlling 60 per cent of its wealth.

To be noted that the SP president also spoke about establishing an Ahir Regiment and a Gujarat Infantry in the Army, apart from implementing a welfare scheme for the military veterans. Focusing on socialism, the core ideology of the SP, Akhilesh said the party would strive towards equal distribution of wealth if the party gets elected to power.
