Pune: “I am wedded to work,” Congress president Rahul Gandhi replied on Friday when asked as to who should be the heroine if a biopic is made on his life. The question popped up when the Congress president was interacting with students in Maharashtra’s Pune. Rahul has often come across such questions and he has, on all occasions, dodged them by giving diplomatic replies. Earlier, the 48-year-old leader had said that he has no time to get married anytime soon and that he was “wedded to the Congress party.”

He had said when asked about his marriage plans by media persons in Hyderabad last year “I am wedded to the Congress party,”. The Pune event, coordinated by popular radio jockey Malishka, was part of Rahul’s campaign in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, to be held from April 11 to May 19. The Congress chief has time and again said that his only priority is to oust the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government in 2019.

However, it is to be noted that during the interaction with students in Pune, Rahul also talked about his political journey and said that he has mustered courage from experience. He stated in an apparent dig at PM Modi “I have got the courage for the experience because I accept and face the truth. From truth comes humility from humility comes courage. I don’t make hollow promises,”.

He also took a swipe at the ruling dispensation over a slew of issues including demonetisation and air strikes conducted by IAF. The Congress chief concluded his speech by saying that he loves Narendra Modi and that he had not hatred or anger against him.
