Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong critique against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) during a rally in Bardhaman-Durgapur, West Bengal. He asserted that the TMC has marginalized Hindus in the state, making them feel like second-class citizens.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Dilip Ghosh to contest against TMC candidate Kirti Azad, a former cricketer turned politician.

Modi criticized the TMC for its inability to foster development, accusing them of resorting to divisive tactics for electoral gains. He cited an instance where a TMC MLA openly threatened to drown Hindus in the Bhagirathi river within two hours, questioning the ethical standards of such rhetoric.

Furthermore, Modi accused the TMC of protecting individuals involved in cases of injustice, specifically mentioning the Sandeshkhali incident and Shahjahan Sheikh. He questioned whether the TMC prioritizes appeasement over justice and humanity.

In response, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the Modi government of marginalizing SCs, STs, and OBCs. She also criticized the BJP's stance on Bengal's autonomy and the Election Commission.

Meanwhile, the Congress alleged that the Modi government's policies favor crony capitalists and endanger West Bengal's industrial prosperity.

Modi is slated to address public gatherings in Krishnanagar, Purba Bardhaman, and Bolpur Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal on Friday, May 3rd.
